News:

1 February 2010: The NSG team is now officially dissolved.
Dragana's contract, my contract (minimal additional employment to be able to formally lead the EC-GIN project), and the whole EC-GIN project ended yesterday. A bit of work is still ongoing - Dragana's thesis is finished, but her defense hasn't happened yet, and the EC-GIN final review meeting is still ahead, both of these things will take place in March).
Instead of shrinking the picture even more, with only two Ph.D. students left in Innsbruck, one of them working from home most of the time, and none of them focusing on Grid computing, I think it makes no sense to call this a "team" anymore. It was an interesting time - for some nostalgia, look at the "history in pictures" page!
1 July: former NSG master student Armin Abfalterer joins me (Michael W) in Oslo today.
2 June: Dr. Kashif Munir passed his Ph.D. defense with the best mark in Innsbruck last Friday. Congratulations and all the best for your future!!
25 May: Congratulations to Dragana for her CCR paper on MulTFRC.
7 May: I (Michael W.) moved to the University of Oslo, where I'm now an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics / ND group.
25 March: Congratulations to Kashif for having a paper accepted in HPCC 2009 - and thanks to Pascale for her contribution! Speaking of congratulations, I forgot to congratulate Dragana and Philipp here for their recent successful NETWORKING submission.
24 March: Congratulations to Mike for having his first paper accepted at the Infocom MoVID workshop!
28 January: Philipp left us, and I (Michael W.) will join the Networks and Distributed Systems group, at the Department of Informatics of the University of Oslo, Norway in May. In February, I'll pay another visit to Grenville Armitage's CAIA group at Swinburn University, Melbourne, Australia.
18 December: Dr. Murtaza Yousaf, now also former NSG member :-( (that's always the sad part of it...) ... passed his Ph.D. defense with the best mark in Innsbruck today. Congratulations and all the best for your future!!!
27 October: Dr.-Ing. Sven Hessler, former (and the first!) NSG member, passed his Ph.D. defense with "sehr gut" in Darmstadt last Friday, 24. October 2008. Congratulations!!! and all the best for your future.
