The Kurds are the biggest of all national minorities without own state. The term Kurdistan means ‘the land of the Kurds’. The area which is about 500 000 km2 (the size of France) is divided between Iran, Iraq Syria, Turkey and Armenia. read more | LURISTAN Who are the Lurs, often called the Kurds' cousin. The Kurds say the Lurs are tribes within the Kurdish tribe system. The Persians say Luri, the language that the Lurs speak is just a Persian dialect. Most Lurs say they are Lurs.
